Gélifraction
The gélifraction is a mode of Altération of ground Roche ux, caused by the cycles of Gel and thaw of water inside the ground. Water having an expansion of 9% roughly, it forces the weaknesses geomorphological where it infiltrates to open more and more because it increases in volume. The gélifraction is a synonym of Cryoclastie.
The gélifraction leads to the Rupture of the rock of more or less lamellate pieces of form according to its initial internal structure.
The forms of gélifraction are found in particular at the entry of the Grotte S of altitude, on the Lapiaz as in the zones where there are more or less important climatic variations around the zero celcius.
