Fulbert of Chartres
Fulbert of Chartres (960 - 1028) is a holy ( holy Fulbert ) of the Catholic church, bishop of Chartres, conciliator and builder.
Its name comes from the Germanic one: " Fulc" (people) and " Bert" (shining). Certainly resulting from a modest milieu, one is still unaware of which area it is originating, the debate still continues between the Picardy and the Italy. There does not exist any proof which can affirm that he was the pupil of Gerbert d' Aurillac, the future pope Sylvestre II, but nothing cancels it either. Fulbert is the tutor of Robert, the son of the king Hugues Capet. It founds with Chartres a school cathedral (École of Chartres) which will have a great notoriety.
