Frederic-Guillaume de Mecklembourg-Strelitz (in German Friedrich-Wilhelm von Mecklenburg-Strelitz), born the October 17th 1819 with Neustrelitz, deceased the May 30th 1904 with Neustrelitz.

He was large-duke of Mecklembourg-Strelitz of 1860 with 1904, general of cavalry in the Prussian army.

Biography

Frederic-Guillaume de Mecklembourg-Strelitz passed all his childhood to Neustrelitz, it went to Bonn to study the History. Its finished studies, it went in Italy then in Suisse.

It succeeded his father the September 6th 1860, it inserted the Grand Duchy of Mecklembourg-Strelitz in the Confédération of Germany of North in (1867), then in the German Empire in (1871).

His/her son Adolphe-Frederic V succeeded to him.

Genealogy

Frederic-Guillaume de Mecklembourg-Strelitz belongs to the third branch (Mecklembourg-Strelitz) resulting from the first branch of the Maison of Mecklembourg. This third line died out with dead of the large-duke Georges-Alexandre de Mecklembourg-Strelitz occurred in 1996. Georges Borwin is the current one claiming with the succession.
