Frame-hull

The frame-hull is the most current form of Châssis of Automobile, the frame is integrated into the Carrosserie and forms the Habitacle amongst other things.

At the beginning of the cars, the frame of those was made up like all the cars of the time, of two beams assembled in H. On this frame were fixed the suspension S, the Moteur and the body.
- In the Years 1930, one sought to defer the rigidity brought by the frame on the body. By the stamping and veining of the sheets which compose it, so as to reduce the unit, then, later, to optimize the behavior of the structure of the vehicle in the event of Accident.
- On the other hand that complicates the realization of Cabriolet S starting from trucks or half-compartments of great series, because they need reinforcements of Soubassement S private individuals to mitigate their absence of rigid roof. For this reason, very often the convertibles are paradoxically heavier than their equivalents with rigid roof. The solution consisting in designing the hull directly for a convertible is possible, the most known example is MGB.
