Flying fox of Philippines

The dogfish or fox flying from Philippines ( Acerodon jubatus ) is a rare Chauve-souris frugivorous that one exclusively finds with the Filipino . It is also the largest species of bat in the world.

Living in the caves and the tropical forest of Maitum, Sarangani, this species is in process of extinction because of the poaching and the destruction of its natural habitat.

This Mammifère wheel has a Envergure at least 1,50 m and weighs approximately 1,2 kg. Credit the night, it can traverse long distances in flight, up to 40 km to nourish various fruits. Its preferred food is the ripe Figue.

The local government of Maitum, Sarangani (Philippines) organized a campaign to save this rare species of the extinction.
