Scatophaga stercoraria , or scatophage of the manure popularly called fly with shit of Escher , belongs to the order of dipterous, and the family of the Sarcophagidae. It is the hairy Mouche which one sees being posed on the dungs of cow in the grazing grounds. It measures from 5 to 12 millimetres and has gilded hairs (male) or greenish (female). One finds it in Europe, Asia and North America.
Life cycle
During the coupling, the insects meet on the dungs of cow coldly emitted and still heats. The eggs, of a diameter of approximately 1 millimetre, are laid on this matter. The Larva, a Asticot develops then to reach approximately 10 millimetres, by nourishing larvae of other insects Coprophage S, which it finds in the dung.

With the Quebec, the expression with double edge “fly with shit” designates somebody who sticks to you afterwards and follows you everywhere.
