Field of connection to the DNA

A field of connection to the DNA (or DBD of English DNA-binding domain ) is a proteinic reason which is able to bind double DNA or simple bit with an affinity for a nucleotidic Séquence specific, or an affinity relating to the DNA.

The fields of connection to the DNA present in many Protéine S are implied in the regulation of the form of genes (like the factors of transcription). There exist many types of DBD characterizing of the families of proteins.

Various types of DBD

Propeller-turn-propeller (or homéodomaine)

Propeller-buckle-propeller

Zinc finger

Field leucine zipper (bZIP)

Winged Propeller (WH)

Field ETS

Other types of DBD

Folding up of immunoglobulins
