Fernand Baldet

Fernand Baldet (March 16th 1885November 8th 1964) was a Astronome French.

He worked with the count Aymar of the Balsam Pluvinel, observing Mars in 1909 since the Observatoire of the Peak of the South lately built. The photographs obtained were so clear that they could contradict the theory of Percival Lowell on the presence of geometrical channels on the surface of planet.

The crater Baldet on the the Moon and the crater Baldet on Mars were baptized in its honor.
