Felix Antoine Appert
Felix Antoine Appert (born the June 12th 1817 with Saint-Remy-on-Bussy, the Marne - died the April 18th 1891 with Passy, the Seine, nowadays the XVIe district of Paris) was a soldier and diplomatic French of 19th century. Lieutenant-general of army, it was Ambassadeur of France near the emperor of Russia.
Biography
Attached to the staff of the general Thomas-Robert Bugeaud, it gained the cross of the Legion of honor at the sides of the general, with the Bataille of Isly. In the characters of a table which recalls this battle to the museum of Versailles, the painter reproduced the features of the Capitaine Appert. He was aide-de-camp of the marshal Jacques Louis Randon in 1853, when he was named Major.The marshal Pélissier, who had known it in Algérie, called it in the Crimea and in made its aide-de-camp of it
Chief of staff of the imperial Guard, Felix Antoine Appert is promoted Colonel the March 12th 1862, then Brigadier general the July 14th 1870.
During the Common and until in 1875, it orders the subdivision of Seine-et-Oise. For this reason, it is in charge of the task difficult and delicate to direct the military justice which judges the Communard S with Versailles.
Felix Antoine Appert was named Major general on May 3rd 1875.
In 1882, whereas it ordered the 17th army corps, it has to represent the French Republic as ambassador near the emperor of Russia.
It is allowed with the retirement of general on July 31st 1884.
He was also member of the General advice of the Marne.
