Farmhouse-Thibert

Farmhouse-Thibert is a village attached to the commune of Arles in the department of the Rhone delta and the area Provence-Alp-Coast of Azure.

Geography

located at 18 km in the south of Arles on the road of Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône, the village is wedged between the Channel of Arles with Bouc and the channel of Vigueirat to some steps of the the Rhone.

History

Old property of the Order of Jean Saint of Jerusalem. In the Sixties, following the war of Algeria, a community of Harkis came to settle there guided by Bacahaga Saïd Boualam (1906-1982), French politician. It is today one of most important the community of Harkis of France.

The Conservatoire of the littoral arranged with a few kilometers of the village a field of natural spaces open to the public, the Marais of Vigueirat, rich in flora and fauna.

Farmhouse-Thibert is in addition an important center of breeding of Taureaux.
