FROM 470 diesel

The 470 OF are models resulting from the catalog LLD/Batignolles-Chatillon bought in the years 1950 in order to develop the park of specialized power trolleys with the operation.

Design

Forming the type 108180 BN of LLD, these power trolleys are a modernized evolution of the types 16150 BN, 18200 BN and 28200 BN of the firm. The transmission by rods and false axles is abandoned with the profit of a drive chain. For the remainder, the mechanical part is virtually identical. The appearance is much more modern than on the predecessors, with an entirely closed cabin. The power trolleys of series 470 are couplables between them, and have two speed ranges (two slow and three rapids). They constitute the ultimate descent of the model, which will be given up by Batignolles-Chatillon since 1956. Three identical specimens will be however delivered to the National office of the Nitrogen of Toulouse in 1956.

Service

If the large one of the series goes to CFM, four units are delivered to TF. They are assigned to principal sortings and industrial centers of the country, and allow the elimination of the rare units of older series, in particular the Renault of TF. The reforms begin at the end of the years 1970. In 1985, the series does not appear already any more in manpower. OF 474 and 481 are however preserved at Meknès within the framework of the future Moroccan museum of the railroads.
