FC Montceau Burgundy is a club of Football French based with Montceau-the-Mines and founded in 1948. The club chaired by Jean-Pierre Bailly evolves/moves this season in championship of France Amateurs (D4).
History
The club is founded in 1948 under the name of Blanzy-Montceau Sporting union by fusion of Sporting Club Montcellien and the Sporting union of Blanzy. The club evolves/moves seven seasons of Division 2 between 1982 and 1990 with the professional statute between 1984 and 1989. Montceau makes a return crashing to pieces on the front of the scene by reaching the semi-finals of the Coupe de France in 2007.
Beginnings of the club
The Blanzy-Montceau Sporting union is founded in 1948 by fusion of Sporting Club Montcellien (club founded before the First World War) and of the Sporting union of Blanzy (Blanzy is a commune bordering on Montceau). These two clubs evolved/moved in Division of Honor of the League of Burgundy in 1947 -48. By linking the forces of these two solid clubs, the results are not made wait, and as of the season 1948-49, the USBM gains the championship of Burgundy making it possible Blanzy-Montceau to reach the elite amateurs: the championship of France Amateurs.
Rise and fall
Promoted in CFA, Blanzy-Montceau illustrates 1954 particularly there with 1962. Not organ of this period, the USBM removes the title of its group of CFA in 1957 under the control of the trainer-player Oskar Iskierka. The club replonge then in DH in 1963.In 1967, the club absorbs the FC Wood of Verne and becomes the Agreement of Montceau. In spite of its new name, the Agreement does not manage to be extracted from the regional level before 1978 with in the chair Gerard Clayeux. This last makes it possible the club to cross the stages to evolve/move in Division 2 of 1982 with 1990, with a return in D3 at the time of the season 1984 -85. As of 1982, the new one of the stage of the larks (6000 places) is used. In 1984, Bernard Clayeux makes cross with the club Rubicon of professionalism, with a new name with the key: FC Montceau Burgundy. President Clayeux sets up a system of cabins in the stage of the Larks which alone get a sixth of the budget of the club.
Among the players who evolved/moved in Montceau at this period, let us quote the trainer Jean-François Jodar and the players Roland Wagner and Farès Bousdira.
The reports/ratios become surging between president Bernard Clayeux and the town hall of Montceau, shown by Clayeux not sufficiently not to support the club. A removal in Chalon-sur-Marne is even studied… In order to show his determination, the president resigns of his functions in June 1989, leaving the club with 1,3 franc million of deficit. The club loses its professional statute then, but saves its head in D2 thanks to the insistence of the new president of the club: Alain Ayache. In front of the complete absence of municipal assistance, Alain Ayache gives up his presidency later a few months. Incompetent to sign the least victory between the October 21st 1989 and the May 5th 1990, the club falls in D3. Since then, Montceau evolves/moves in divisions amateurs without shining.
The epopee in Coupe de France
With the sorrow in championship, the club signs an exploit the January 31st 2007, by eliminating the Girondins from Bordeaux, club of Ligue 1, thus reaching for the first time of its history the quarterfinals of the Coupe de France. Then, the February 28th, the club amateur manages to leave RC Lens, then in second position in the classification of L1, thus obtaining a historical qualification in semi-finals. The April 17th, Montceau faces Sochaux for a place with the Stade de France. The amateurs hold until the prolongations but are finally eliminated 2-0 by the doubists. The Stage of the Larks not being to the standards, these three matches took place with Gueugnon, with the Stade Jean Laville.
