Félicia Thierret

Marguerite Félicité Thierret , widowed Georgin, said Mrs Thierret is a French Comédienne , born with Paris towards 1812, and deceased in this same city on May 1st 1873.

After a passage to the Conservatory of Paris, it began with the Comédie-Française by the role from Suzanne from the Mariage from Barber from Beaumarchais. It was accepted boarder in 1832.

But it left soon this theater, and throughout its career, it flickered between scenes and rounds in province. The list of its many engagements in Paris speaks about itself: two engagements with the Comédie-Française (in 1832 and 1841), with the Theater of Odéon (in 1839 and 1857), and with the Theater of the Palais Royal (in 1848 and 1858); an engagement with the Theater of Puff out-Parisian the in the 1867 and one last with the Theater of the Menu-Pleasures in 1873.

The coming age, it took plumpness. That encouraged it to change its play to take roles of duenna. She could have continued the traditional repertory (she played for example Dorine in Tartuffe with Odéon), but that undoubtedly did not correspond to her whimsical and malicious temperament. In Sanctimonious hypocrite in particular, one noticed his direct, male, frankly, but without smoothness and a little surface play. She preferred to turn over in 1858 to the Palais Royal, where its comic side could be expressed in the comedies, light comedies and operettas. Charles Legrand described it as follows: “ Massive, hommasse, a busqué semi nose, small malicious eyes, a smile half-scoffer, the step troupier, the gesture hablor ”. It obtained great successes with roles of comic duenna, of which it had created the kind.

Eugene Hugot known as of it: “ One never saw, on the side of the weaker sex, nothing more cocasse and figure more completely delighted. It had a way of articulating which belonged only to it and it underlined the words with as well drolery as it centuplicated the value of it”.

In 1873, it was with the Théâtre of the Menu-Pleasures where it played in the Casserole with gold eggs. Feeling sick, it was confined to bed and it was not raised any more. She died on May 1st 1873.
