Extremely the Queen
Fort the Queen was located at the south-west of the site of the current town of Portage the Meadow with the Manitoba.
The fort of origin was built in 1738 by the French explorer Pierre Gaultier, sior of Vérendrye and its two sons on northern bank of the river Assiniboine on along the track Yellowquill Trail . The fort will be used as district-general during the thirteen years that it explored the territory. In 1852 a group of Indians Cris set fire to the fort. A stele was set up on the site of the strong original.
The current museum, open since the 13 novemvre 1967 contains a counterpart of the strong original.
