Experience of satisfaction

The experience of satisfaction indicates the satisfaction of the Pulsion, but more particularly the first satisfaction such, in what it will direct all the future behavior of the subject.

Model freudien

Birth of the desire

The infant is hungry, and the psychoanalyst distinguishes the Besoin to eat. In a state of distress, or Désaide, it is not able to occur with its need.

Then, his/her mother comes to offer the center to him and the Infans saw its first experience of satisfaction , which thus relates to initially a vital need, biological. Following this experience of satisfaction, the impulse will come to seek such an experiment: thus will be born the Désir, initially Pulsion of autoconservation, which will push actively with obtaining such a satisfaction.

According to this model, the impulse does not know in the beginning not an object and sexuality it also will be anobjectale, simply seeking to recreate the pleasure.

Thereafter, the child will see the sexual instincts emerging, being supported on this satisfaction, and psychic sexuality will come to be placed within this experiment, in connection with which Karl Abraham will distinguish two phases: the orality of the first times and the oral-sadistic stage, or cannibalic.

Model lacanien

Voir Besoin desire requires

Lacan takes again the model of the experience of satisfaction; what interests it however is of to differentiate need, desire and request: if it thus retains the distinction freudienne, it will bring a vision different from the desire, like desire of the other, and will attach the importance which is due to him to the request.
