They would have met at the time of a visit of Hitler in the workshop. Eva Braun will entrust to his/her sister “ It devoured me eyes” ; for Adolf Hitler, it resembles curiously her niece Geli Raubal, with whom it maintains a incestueuse relation . Eva a love letter would have slipped into the pocket of Hitler at the time of one of their meetings.

Eva, 17 years, truly is hardly fascinated by this 40 years old man. It is attracted by the appearance of virile domination which it gives itself while carrying a riding crop. It is then presented to him like “ Herr Wolf ”, a Pseudonyme which it used in the years 1920 to keep anonymity. With her friends it describes it like “ a gentleman of a certain age raising a moustache amusing and wearing a large felt hat ”. However, the things become complicated quickly for Eva.

The two families are opposed to their relation, moreover Fritz Braun which does not adhere at all to national-socialisme and which does not appreciate Hitler for its political ideas and morals regards it as a “ tramp of Austrian ”. He requests it to stop seeing his daughter.

One knows few things over the first two years of their relation. The half-sister of Hitler, Angela Raubal, mother of Geli Raubal (which committed suicide in 1931) considers Eva with condescension. During this time, Hitler frequent of other women, as the actress Renate Müller (who committed suicide in 1937) and will be present a long time at the sides of Hitler to Munich, then with the Chancellery of Berlin.

It moves in with him in 1936 with the Berghof, the residence of Hitler in Bavaria close to Berchtesgaden. Certain historians suppose that it is with the current of certain details concerning the activities of the government. But the majority of the sources affirm that it keeps away from the political matters. Eva Braun and Hitler never appear nevertheless together in public, and their marriage is very late. Thus, the Germans are unaware of very of their relation until the end of the Second world war.

In its autobiography Erinnerungen , Albert Speer, the architect as a chief of the government, thus described their relation:

Eva Braun was authorized to attend the conversations with old party. But it was to disappear when the other members of the government, like the ministers, arrived Manifestement, Hitler accepted its company in company until some limiting. Sometimes, I held to him company when it was insulated, beside the room of Hitler. It was intimidated so much that it did not even dare to leave the house to take the air. Beyond sympathy that I tested for his delicate situation, I started to take taste with this unhappy woman, so deeply attached to Hitler.

Eva Braun always was extremely near to Hitler and this, until the end.

During the war

Even during the Second world war, Eva Braun seems to have much leisures, like making sport, reading mawkish novels, to look at films. But its leaning for the sun baths completely naked and its taste to be photographed in this situation displeases in Hitler. Moreover, it is strongly interested in photography and the Rolleiflex Girls , group of impassioned whose name is inspired by a famous mark of cameras. Besides it arranges its own darkroom, in which it develops the majority of the photographs and films on the life of Hitler.

In 1936, they say: It always accompanied it. As soon as he heard the voice of his beloved, he became merry. He joked readily in connection with his new hats. After its day's works, they spent time together to drink fresh champagne and cognac, and to eat chocolate and fruits. The report/ratio of investigation adds that when Hitler was too occupied to devote time to him, “Eva was often in sobs”. Heinz Linge affirms that before the war, Hitler makes reinforce the monitoring of the house of Eva Braun to Munich, after the latter reported to the Gestapo that a woman had treated it of “whore of Führer”.

Hitler is famous to be opposite with the make-up, partly because they would be produced starting from animals, and goes even until speaking about it at the time of the meals. Linen - which is then its servant - tells that one day, Hitler made fun of the traces of lipstick present on the napkin of Eva, then would have said to him while joking Soon, the lipstick will be manufactured with the bodies of the dead soldiers.

In 1944, the sister of Eva Braun, Gretl, Marie with a member of the entourage of Hitler, Hermann Fegelein, general S working at the sides of Heinrich Himmler. Hitler makes use of this marriage like pretexts with the accession of Eva Braun to official functions. In 1945, Fegelein is carried out on the order of Hitler because it related to him of the documents concerning an exchange between Juifs and military trucks which Himmler would have negotiated. Eva Braun would then not have intervened in favor of his/her brother-in-law.

At the beginning of April 1945, it joined Hitler with the Führerbunker (its bunker under the Chancellerie) of Berlin.
