Europanto
The Europanto is a language invented in 1996 by the writer Diego Marani, like a free combination of the Vocabulaire S and Grammaire S of the most widespread Idiome S in the European Union, and in particular in Brussels at that time: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian and Dutch, inter alia (and without quite precise hierarchy). The author was then translator with the the Council of Ministers of the European Community.
In this medium of the multilingual translators where each one speaks a little all the languages, even if English, one is a rather effective common reference in any case finishes by the force of the things by mixing in the exchanges with the colleagues and knowledge words more practical and more sounding in the various shared languages, without any true rule if it is not that to render comprehensible itself of its interlocutor - one of the principal sought-after goals to the final one.
The concept having made stock, of the articles in Europanto, in often humorous matter, were published by Diego Marani in various European newspapers. It also published “the first book in europanto”, Las adventures of the inspector Cabillot (Mazarine editions, Fayard 1999). In parallel was born a polemic aiming at seeing in this new language a threat against the basic English language like communications tools, as one could see it here. However the sought-after goals are certainly the recreation and curiosity for the other cultures, more than one attack towards the linguists purists or the anglophone world.
Europanto can resemble a parody of international language (the Occidental in particular), also the joke was badly taken at one time by certain esperantists - Europanto , Mot-valise combining “ Europe ” and the Greek root “ πάντ- (pant-)” ( all ), resembles in addition “Esperanto”.
