Europa Park
Europa Park is largest Parc with topics in Germany in term of frequentation with nearly 4 million visitors per annum (including 3.5 million in summer season). It is to 20 km of Freiburg and to approximately 50 km of Strasbourg, more precisely in the commune of Rust.
It belongs to the family Mack, itself holder of the company Mack Rides.
History
Created by the family Mack, the park opened its doors the
July 12th 1975. It was in the beginning a small park holding on some
Hectare S and was used as window for the company of creation of attractions Mack Rides.
With the passing of years, it packed new attractions and increased to become today the first world seasonal park and better European recreation park.
The course of the Silver Star, open in 2002, is located in major part on the carpark.
Chronology
Thématisation of the park
The park sails on a topic of topicality: the Europe. The park is divided into 12 districts, each one representing a country. Here is the list in the chronological order of construction:
Many elements try to point out the Austrian decorations with for example the cave of the invaluable stones. The horse-gear of flying chairs located in this zone gives again life with the old tradition of the horse-gears. L´express of the Alps Enzian and the descent of the rapids of the Tyrol evoke when with them the mountains.
This district set of themes exists since 1981. C´est the first district which was carried out in the concept of the European topics. The piazza is bordered of evocations of architectures of Renaissance styles and Baroque, with abundances d´arcs, of columns, d´arcades and of fountains. The green of the pines and the cypresses mixes with the white with the statues, with the background on the lake, the fountain di Paradiso. This part of the park takes again the characteristic of this destination of holidays appraisal to the cultural heritage and gastronomical very rich. Several restaurants of the park are located there. The Italian theater is not forgotten with the variety show of Teatro dell´Arte.
The Dutch district is rather intended to the young people with mini the bumper cars, theater for children, swimming pool with balloons or suspended bridge with snail toboggan. Principal L´attraction of the district is the visit among Pirates of Batavia. Among the other horse-gears which await you: The giant coffee cups, boats of Peter Pan, l´atelier Faber Manor house, a space where the creativity reigns.
In 2006, the English district was refitted and increased. England shows itself under a new angle with buildings of Tudor style. This zone proposes humorous spectacles with the Earth Theater, the Silverstone circuit, the ancient carousel of the XIXe century and the bumper cars of the Arena off Football. This last hiding place four attractions under a single roof which will make live all the visitors at the rate/rhythm of football.
The heart of the French district consists of a water level on which a scene of spectacles is built. On the two sides, fronts of typical house with trade and restaurants. The fronts opposite Switzerland are built in the Alsatian style and invite in summer with the intimate lunch with the race of Elz. This district is very popular thanks to the presence of the Silver Star and
Eurosat.
Picturesque houses out of wooden at the edge d´un tumultuous torrent, shopping malls with souvenir shops, snack bars and a restaurant with fish specialities… This zone comprises the river of the " Fjord-Rafting" , the " Vindjammer" , cruising will be done this time in the airs. For the children, it there with the legend of the absorbed city " Vineta" , the suspended bridge or the mysterious tower of the tales d´Andersen.
This zone reproduces a village of Valaisan mountains with an old paddle mill and typical country cottages out of wooden of fir tree and granite. The palate of ice accommodates a spectacle of ice-skating. The district proposes the circuit of the Bobsleigh and to l´éclair of Cervin (Matterhorn Blitz), the horse-gear “Jungfrau Gletscherflieger” and the horse-gear of montgolfiers.
The superb white frontages with picturesque small towers, Moorish gates and balconies evoke Spain and particularly
Seville, just like splendid mural earthenware of Ibères. In a preoccupation with a realism, ceramics or lanterns was especially imported d´Espagne. This zone accommodates the spectacle of the knights presented by
Mario Luraschi, the caravel of Colomb but also Bodega or the restaurant " Gift Quichotte".
The German district is in two parts. On the one hand, the park of the castle exists since good before the amusement park, there was built in
1577. In this zone, one finds several attractions as well as the main station of the panoramic railroad. This station inspired of the
Alexanderplatz is used as entry with the park. The
fountain of the meeting carried out in 1996 the artist Philippe André French was installed in front of the entry. In addition, the German alley presents houses of various typically German architectures.
Russia is evoked by the gilded cupolas of the orthodoxe churches but also the cosmic voyage in Euro Mir, large eight strange. A reproduction of the Mir space station, makes it possible to continue the topic of the space conquest. The district accommodates also traditional craftsmen.
Large eight watery Poseidon located at the entry of the zone makes it possible to reach an evocation of Mykonos. This place is used as host with attractions of the legendary Trojan horse and l´étonnante Malédiction of Cassandre. In 2007, the park added the attraction
To discovered of Atlantis .
Portugal is especially for Europa Park the door of the Atlantic with attraction " Atlantica" offering to the visitors to leave on the traces the large sailors and explorers.
The district portuguais, as for him, was carried out the year following the construction of attraction, in 2006.

- universe of the adventure
Oases of peace in a safeguarded natural environment make it possible to rest and benefit from the beauties of Natural Lady. A floral big lake and floors are traversed one by a steamer, the others by calm paths. But it comprises also a voyage in the kingdom d´un African king in order to discover the jungle and its animals
This zone is a universe dedicated to the children and all those which like to play and discover while s´amusant. From l´eau, beaches, boats with oars and an original fishing vessel await the small ones. The currency: " all to test and toucher" is appropriate perfectly for this place. Nacelles for two people make it possible small and large to rise on the headlight with a nine meters height and to see the world considering d´en high. A spectacle for children is devoted to the safety regulations relating to the bathe. There is also l´aire plays of the village Viking with a toboggan of 20 m, tunnels and walls d´escalades.
Attractions
The park has before a a whole family vocation: attractions are for the majority accessible to the children. Each one will find there its happiness, small and large. There is more than 100 attractions (horse-gear, spectacle,…) 46 are horse-gears which are distributed in the following way:

Large the huits
- Silverstar : This attraction is a Russian mountain culminating to 73 Mr. It was inaugurated in 2002 and is in the French district. It is highest and the longest Russian mountain of Europe with a course of 1620m.
- Euro-Mir : Large eight having for topic the Russian space conquest, this attraction have a characteristic: during the turn, the tip trucks which compose it turn on them-even (freely but not controlled by sensors on the circuit), which makes it possible to make the circuit ahead or behind. The way of the horse-gear proceeds between 5 large towers of glass. It was inaugurated in 1997 and is in the Russian district. 28 meters height, 980 length and 80 km/h top speed are its characteristics.
- Eurosat : The spherical building lodging attraction is one of the symbols of the park. It is a Russian mountain in interior, the course is done exclusively in the darkness.
- Matterhorn Blitz : It is a Russian mountain of the type Wild foams built by Mack Rides.

Swiss Bob (Schweizer Bobbahn): It is a Russian Montagnes Bobsleigh. At the time of its opening in 1985, this attraction was a world exclusiveness. It is large-eight whose coaches are assembled on tires. The course is not consisted by rails, but a track similar to a track of bobsleigh. The visitors descend at high speed the 20 meters of uneven while passing in valleys, very close to typical country cottages as in a farm which is also used as station of loading.

Express of the Alps *Enzian* This attraction is the first Russian mountain built in the park in the spirit of an insane continuation in the mountain. Attraction only includes/understands and single loop of the park but it is carried out with the horizontal one. Then the coach plunges in a cave called “the world of charm of diamonds”, in which the dragon as well as imps hides. Before returning to the station, the vehicle carries out a stiff curve.

The 4 hotels are generally full with more than 90%, which is exceptional in the hotel medium but equivalent in the field of the " resorts" with amusement parks.
Built in
1995, it was the first hotel of Europa Park. It is thématisé in the style of a Spanish residence of summer. The grounds are out of terra cotta, of the arcades decorate the decoration and an external swimming pool is located in the middle of a tropical garden. The hotel has 193 rooms and wants to be family.
This hotel built in the style d´un strong castle of old Spain has 450 beds out of 9 stages. The top of the tower offers a unspoilable view on the park.
In the respect of the Roman style
, the hotel 4 Colosseo stars, releases, by its architectural richness, an atmosphere of southernmost.
The fourth hotel of the park decorated a such Portuguese monastery opened its doors on July 1st
2007. It was built in order to face the surge of the visitors increasingly more.
