Estonian Air
Estonian Air (Code AITA: OV ; Code ICAO: ELL ) is the national Airline company of Estonia, based with Tallinn.
Estonian Air was founded like national company on February 1st 1991, immediately after the re-establishment of Estonian independence. In 1996, the Estonian government decided privatiser the company and 66% of the actions were marketing. The Danish company Maersk Air, associated with bankers of Estonian investments, Cresco Ltd., gained this privatization - from now on the Estonian State holds nothing any more but 34% of the actions, Cresco Ltd. in has 17% and Maersk Air 49%. In September 2003, Scandinavian Airlines System AB signed an agreement with Maersk Air A/S to acquire 49% of the actions of Estonian Air.
In 1992, Estonian Air became member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and of IATA Clearing House .
In 2007, the Flotte of Estonian Air includes/understands only five Boeing 737 (three 500 and two 300).
Lines
Estonian Air transported 49.795 passengers towards its 13 regular destinations in July 2004 (15 destinations in 2007), that is to say 44% more than in July 2003 (towards then 9 destinations only). Who more is, 6.792 passengers were transferred onto flights Charter S in July 2004. The full number of passengers is highest on the way towards Copenhagen. The capital of Denmark is the main thing hub of Estonian Air for the intra-European flights in co-operation with the group SAS (airline company) and Star Alliance. Other important destinations: London, Kiev, Vilnius and from now on Paris.
The full number of passengers on regular lines is of 281.871 from January to July, that is to say more 38% over one year, without counting 17.913 passengers transported by flights charters.
