Enrico Forlanini

Enrico Forlanini (Milan, December 13rd, 1848 - Milan, October 9th, 1930) was an engineer and inventive Italian, pioneer of aviation.

Work

Known as one of the inventor of the Hydrofoil, its pionnière activity in the sector incipient from aeronautics was particularly significant in the field of the helicopters and the airships. In addition to the hydrofoil, its intuitions went on the airships: interdependent nacelle with the envelope to reduce the aerodynamic Resistance, first concrete use of jets of compressed air for the directional control applied to the airship Omnia to dir which will make a posthumous flight in 1931.
