Engineering service of the buildings, fortifications and work
The Engineering service of the buildings, fortifications and work (STBFT) is an organization of the French ministry of defense.
It is a research department specialized in work of infrastructure to the profit of the Army within the genius then Service of infrastructure of defense.
History
Created on April 2nd, 1946 by note n° 72111/ministère of the armées/DCG/1er Office/Section organization, the Technical Section of the Building industries, Fortifications and Work has the role to replace four entities existing before the second world war:- technical Section of the fortifications
- technical Section of the Genius
- Section of studies
- Commission of experiments
In 1987, the STBFT becomes the Engineering service of the Building industries, Fortifications and Work .
Following the fusion of the three services manufacturers of the three armies within the Service of infrastructure of defense, it is attached to the General secretary for the administration.
