Emberá

Emberá is a indigenous Comarque Panama. It was created the November 8th 1983 by the Law n°22 with the territories of Chepigana and Pinogana of the province of Darién. Its capital is Union Choco. Emberá aavait a population of 8.246 inhabitants at the time of the census of the year 2000. The surface of comarque is of 4 383,6 km ².

The comarque one is divided into 2 districts.

  1. Cémaco (Union Choco: it includes/understands the towns of Union Choco, Lajas Blancas and Manuel Ortega.

  2. Sambú (Río Sábalo): it includes/understands the towns of Rio Sabalo and Jingurudo.
