Biography

Selected by NASA like candidate astronaut, he dies at the side of Charles Bassett in an air crash, before to have accomplished a space flight.

He was named pilot in the crew of reserve of Gemini 5.
Envisaged to steal on Gemini 8, it was finally promoted ordering flight Gemini 9. Its death as that of Charles Bassett - on board a T-38 - intervenes a few days before the launching of the mission (March 16th).
