Elisabeth of Austria (1285-1352)

Elisabeth of Austria , dead the May 19th 1353, was regent of the Duché of Lorraine of 1328 with 1334. It was girl of Albert Ier de Habsbourg, Germanic emperor and archduke of Austria and Elisabeth de Görtz.
She married in 1304 Ferry IV (1282 † 1328), duke of Lorraine. She accepted in douaire Neufchâteau and Châtenois. They had as children:
- Raoul (1320 † 1346), duke of Lorraine
- Marguerite, married to Jean de Chalon, lord of Auberive († 1350), then with Conrad, count de Fribourg, and with Ulrich († 1377), lord of Rappoltstein.
With died of her husband, it became regent of the duchy, although the king de France Philippe VI of Valois was anxious that the duchy is controlled by the sister of the emperor. The November 3rd 1329, the pope required of him to intervene with Simon de Maxéville so that it releases Adhémar de Monteil, bishop of Metz. To the same time, it led the war against the brothers of Hohenstein, and put an end to the litigation by two treaties, of the December 17th 1329 and of the February 10th 1330. The March 17th 1330, Liverdun was placed under its guard for seven years. The March 10th 1330, it signs a treaty of offensive and defensive alliance with Edouard Ier, count de Bar. In 1334, his/her son was proclaimed major.
