Eliane Plewman
Eliane Plewman (1917 - 1944) is a French agent of the British secret service SOE during the Second world war.
Biography
- 1917 . Birth of Eliane Sophie Browne-Bartroli with Marseilles.
- Education in England and Spain. At the end of its studies, it goes in Leicester to work in a company of importation.
- With the release of the Second world war, it works for the British Embassy in Madrid and Lisbon.
- 1942 . It comes to Great Britain to work for the Spanish section of the Ministry for Information. At the summer, she marries the British officer Tom Plewman. Later, it joined the Special Operations Executive (SOE) and is seen allotting the name of war “ Gaby ”.
- 1943
- *Dans the night from August 13rd to 14th, it is parachuted in France and joined network MONK of Charles Skepper to hold to with it the function of mail around Marseilles, Roquebrune-sur-Argens and Saint-Raphaël.
- 1944
- *Mars. The network is betrayed. It is stopped. The Gestapo questions it during three weeks, then transfers it to the prison from Fresnes.
- * May 13rd. The Germans transfer it, with three other agents of the SOE, Yolande Beekman, Madeleine Damerment and Noor Inayat Khan with the prison of Karlsruhe.
- * September 10th. They are transferred to the concentration camp from Dachau.
