Electro

The term Electro (abbreviation of electro-funk ) defines a particular kind of Electronic music, syncopated, of a varying average Tempo from 120 to 140 BPM, resting on a basic rhythmic model of the kick-snare-kick-kick-snare-kick type whose typical example is Numbers of Kraftwerk. According to the influence and inspiration of the musician is grafted there a line of Basse of some notes often independent from/to each other (i.e. without Portamento) which comes to reinforce the side jerked and robot-like of the rhythmic , and/or a combination of melody tablecloths evoking of the celestial or watery universes (typical at Drexciya and many musicians of Detroit) such as Juan Atkins. The electro one is invariably a music which wants to be " machinique" and in its concerns from a will to imitate the acoustic instruments remains very distant.

Origins

In the beginning the electro one is a branch derived from the Hip-Hop, one traditionally allots the paternity of the style to Afrika Bambaataa thanks to the title Planet Rock which Marie scansions of the Rap per with Sample S of the pieces of Trans-Europe Express train and Numbers of Kraftwerk.

Abusive denomination

One can add that the term Electro for several years has been prone to an inappropriate use which tends to make him indicate any dancing electronic music. For this reason, it is advisable to make well the difference between tangible reality of a musical style and an abuse in characterized language. It is probable that this abusive use has as a starting point the " need; marketing" to replace the term " Techno ", in charge of pejorative connotations related to the context of origin of this music (the Turnip party, associated in the imaginary collective, with the excessive consumption of drugs and a libertarian and marginal lifestyle).
