Edward Harris is a farmer and a American ornithologist , born in 1799 and died in 1863.
Wire of farmer, it grows close to Philadelphia. It meets John James Audubon (1785-1851) in 1824 of which it will become friendly nearest.
The abundance of cash of Harris enables him to support Audubon actively by buying its boards to him in a generous way. It contributes in particular to the edition of its Birds off America at one time when Audubon knows a great poverty.
Harris takes part in two forwardings of Audubon: in 1837, along the Gulf of Mexico and, in 1843, on the course of the river Missouri.
The Tube of Harris, Parabuteo unicinctus was dedicated to him by J.J. Audubon in 1837.
