Eastern Ourthe

The Eastern Ourthe is, with the Western Ourthe, one of the two rivers which meeting in Nisramont constitute Ourthe, river Walloon, running in Belgium, and the most abundant affluent of the Meuse. Ourthe Eastern is born in the commune of Gouvy (section of Beho, locality of Ourthe), and moves towards the west-south-west. It sprinkles Houffalize and shortly after is linked with Ourthe Western close to Nisramont.

Flow

The medium flow of the river measured with Nisramont, between 1992 and 2001 is of 5,7 m ³ a second. During the same period one recorded:

  • a maximum average annual flow of 7,0 m ³ in 1988.
  • a minimal average annual flow of 2,7 in 1996.
