Dysmorphophobie

The dysmorphobie or dysmorphophobie is obsessing fear ugly or to be malformé.

It is a disease characterized by a concern or an obsession concerning a defect in appearance, was this a real light imperfection (Freckles, large nose, marbled skin, wrinkles, Acné, scars), even imaginary. That can generate a severe depression or attempts at Suicide. People suffering from this disease have a degraded image and deformation of them even and unreasonable fears of rejection because of their appearance. There are two forms of this disease: a form accompanied by Hallucination S and a form without hallucination. The patients (men and women) develop compulsives ritual practices to cover to them (S) defect (S). They can remain a considerable time opposite a mirror to try to reassure itself but the effect is often opposite. They seek in a compulsive way of the doctors, the drugs or have recourse to the Plastic surgeon. They can go far to improve their appearance, using sometimes dangerous methods. Some can even try the car surgery or the suicide. The treatment is often difficult, but there was a progress with drugs such as the antidepressants serotoninergic (ISRS - Specific Inhibiters of Recaptures Serotonin).
