Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown
The County of Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown (Irish: Dún Laoghaire-Ráth year Dúin ) is an administrative unit of the Irish Republic resulting from the partition of old the Comté of Dublin. Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown is located at the south east of the town of Dublin. Its administrative center is consisted of the town of Dún Laoghaire. Its creation goes back to 1994 with the fusion of the town of Dún Laoghaire, of the whole of Deansgrange and of the southern part is County of Dublin.
It is smallest of the Counties of Ireland, but at the same time that which has the longest name.
The county is composed of 6 electoral zones which share the election of 28 advisers: Ballybrack (6), Blackrock (4), Dundrum (6), Dún Laoghaire (6), Glencullen (3), Stillorgan (3).
The DART serves the east coast of the County thus connecting it to the center of Dublin. The Tram (Luas) crosses the center of the County. The port of Dún Laoghaire accommodates a line of ferry which ensures the connection with Holyhead in the north of the Wales.
The County is composed of very popular zones and very young people with centers like Dundrum, Killiney or Sandyford and of even smart very residential districts like Glenageary and especially Dalkey.
The county is bordered in north by the town of Dublin, in the east by the county of Southern Dublin, in the south by the Comté of Wicklow and in the west by the Irish Sea. It belongs to the whole of the " Large Dublin" (Greater Dublin Area).
