Ducati 749

The 749 is a model of sporting motor bike built by Ducati. Its production begins in 2002. In the range, it replaces the 748.

Esthetics takes again that of the big sister 999, with its two superimposed projectors and its lines cut with the bill hook. It is available in red or yellow color. One will also note the enormous silencer, with his two rectangular exits, placed under the saddle.

The engine used is Testastretta, whose power is variable according to the model. It is coupled with a box with six reports/ratios. For the year 2005, the engine was worked over again. It now develops 108 horses to 10.000 rpm for a couple of 8,2 mkg with 8.500 rpm. Ergonomics is also reconsidered, with an adjustable position of control. Esthetics is corrected to resemble a little more the models engaged in the world championship supersport. These modifications also benefit the unit from family 749. The weight eest in fall of 9 kg.

March 26th, 2006, the circuit of Brand Hatch saw the launching of a special version of 749 and 999 Airwaves Replica, taking again the decoration of the machines which run the English championship of Superbike, with the hands of Gregorio Lavilla and Leon Haslam. This series is limited to 30 joined together specimens, 749 and 999. The 9.795 £ to be spent also include/understand a certificate of authenticity and an access VIP to reach the bed of the sleeve of the championship of English Superbike of its choice.

749S

Profiting from better equipment than the 749 standard, the engine of the version S develops the same power. The whole of the suspensions come from Showa. The weight is of 199 kg.

In 2005, the power is carried to 116 horses and the couple with 8,4 mkg for a weight of 186 kg.

749R

Appeared in 2004, 749R allows Ducati, following the example 748R, to engage in the world championship of Supersport.

749R is the 749 to only have an engine of really 749 cm ³.
