Dražen Petrović

Dražen Petrović (October 22nd, 1964 - June 7th, 1993) was a Croatian player of Basket-ball born with Šibenik. It is of father Serbe and Croatian mother.
Biography
It starts with the local club of Sibenka Sibenik where he quickly becomes leader of the team. With this one, it reaches the final of the cut Korac in 1982 and 1983 twice, beaten by Limoges.
In spite of requests of the university of Notre Dame, it accepts the gold bridge of the Cibona Zagreb with which it gains the championship and the Yugoslav cut in 1985-86, and the cut of Europe of the clubs champion. It also gains the cut of the cuts in 1987. In 1987, it leaves to play Real Madrid. It gains the Korac cut there against its old club (with 47 points finally), then the Cut of the Cuts in 1989 (62 points against Caserte).
During all its years, it became one of the principal parts of the Yugoslav team. With it, it gains the bronze medal with the Olympic Games of summer of 1984, and with the championships of the world of 1986. Then again an Olympic medal, beaten finally by the Soviet Union of Arvydas Sabonis in 1988. Champion of Europe 1989, he becomes then world champion in 1990.
In 1990, it joined finally NBA with the Portland Trail Blazers which had drafté it in 1986. It plays there the finales NBA against the Detroit Pistons. Then it joined the New Jersey Nets with which it is made really its place in NBA, there gaining even a place in 3rd standard team NBA in 1993.
Unfortunately, the promising career of Petrović ends on a German highway during the summer 1993.
He was established with the Hall off Famed in 2002.
