Doria , originally of Auria ( comes from filiis Auriae ), meaning " wire of Auria" , and then of Oria or of Oria , is one of the oldest families and most famous of Genoa.

The legend wants that they result from Arduin, Viscount of Narbonne, which passed by Gènes about 1050 while going to the crusade. Fallen seriously sick, it was accommodated to be neat in the house of the widow of the family Of Volta.
