Document of Damas

The Document of Damas is the name given to one of the texts of the Manuscrits of Qumrân, found in caves 4,5 and 6 of Qumrân (references 4Q265-73, 5Q12, and 6Q15).

Written in Hebrew on Leather and papyrus, it treats persecution of the members of the community of the driven out Esséniens Jerusalem with the " Country of Damas " during the first century before Jesus Christ.

Two handwritten recensions of Xe and XIIe centuries were known since the discovery in 1896 of the Genizah in a room being next to the synagog Ben Ezra with Fustat in the old man Cairo.
