History
- 1790 : creation of the department of Morbihan with 9 districts: Auray, Faouët, Hennebont, Josselin, Pontivy, Ploërmel, the Rock-Bernard, Rochefort, Valves
- 1800: creation of the districts: Lorient, Ploërmel, Pontivy, Valves
- 1926: removal of the district of Ploërmel
