Dimitri Zyuzin

Dimitri Vassiliévitch Zyuzin was a pilot of Chasse of the Aéronavale and Soviet As of the Second world war, decorated with the Ordre of Héros of the Soviet Union.

Career

Born on November 1st 1921 with Maïkop, it took initially courses of piloting in a Aéroclub Civil, before joining, at 17 years, the Flotte of the Red Army in 1938. It followed the courses of the military academy of the Air for the pilots of the Marine of Yeysk , in 1940, and left there patented pilot.

In 1942 it was directed on the face and was transferred to the 11.GuIAP-ChF (= regiment of air hunting of the Fleet of the Black Sea of the Garde) meadows of the Black Sea. As leitenant Naval starhii (= lieutenant) it achieves 535 missions of war on P-39 Airacobra and, during its 500e mission , the November 30th 1943, it cut down of night 1 Junker Ju-88 . In April 1944 it was sent to follow courses for officers of the Flotte. To the mid- 1945 it was transferred to the Fleet of the Pacifique and, in August, took part in the engagements against the Japanese of Mandchourie.

At the conclusion of the conflict it remained in the army and took its retirement like Naval polkovnik (= Captain) in 1957. It was to die the July 12th 1976.
