Diane Marleau

honourable the Diane Marleau , C.P. (born the June 21st 1943 in Kirkland Lake, in Ontario) is a political woman Canadian.

She was alderman with Sudbury (Ontario) and regional adviser of the regional municipality of Sudbury of 1980 with 1985.

She is initially elected Député E with the House of Commons of Canada under the banner of the Liberal party of Canada in the district of Sudbury at the time of the federal election of 1988. She was re-elected since with each subsequent election.

When the liberals of Jean Chrétien are elected to form a government following the election of 1993, Marleau is named with the the Council of Ministers. She is used as minister of Health and minister of sport amateur of 1993 for 1996. In 1996 it is named public Minister for Labor and Minister for the Provisioning and the Services, which is seen like a retrogradation. She in particular sought to facilitate the access to the abortion.

During its mandate, these two stations are amalgamated in a station, the public Minister for Labor and Governmental services. In 1997, it east is named at the post of minister of the International cooperation and minister responsible for the Francophonie; it is ejected cabinet entirely in 1999.

After returnbeing returned to the back-bench, it becomes critical leadership of Christian and vocal in his support of Paul Martin to replace it.

In 2004, after Martin succeeded Chrétien as a liberal chief and a Prime Minister of Canada, it names Marleau parliamentary secretary with the president of the Council of the Treasury and minister responsible for the Canadian Commission of corn.

In 2006, Marleau aspires to the station of President of the House of Commons of Canada. His/her liberal colleague Peter Milliken gains with the first turn of vote.

The husband of Marleau, Paul Marleau, is an important business man with Sudbury which was candidate with the town hall of the city in 2003.
