Deutsches Theater (Berlin)
The Deutsches Theater is a theater Berlin ois creates in 1883 by Adolf Arronde. Whereas the royal theater is the bastion of the conservationism and the Classicisme under the influence of the emperor Guillaume II, Deutsche Theater gets busy to present traditional philosopher's stones to a popular public. The company is then taken again by Otto Brahm which plays inter alia parts of Gerhart Hauptmann which are very discussed by Guillaume II.
max Reinhardt began its career as actor, but it is then as director whom it has the most success. In 1905, it takes the direction of Deutsches Theater and revolutionizes the Scénographie by a setting in innovating scene and of the special effects developed thanks to last technologies, in particular in the field of lighting.
Located in Soviet zone during the period of Berlin divided, Deutsches Theater, under the direction of the intendant Wolfgang Langhoff, will accommodate in particular the first steps of the troop of the Berliner Ensemble.
