Der Schauspieldirektor
Der Schauspieldirektor ( the Theater director ), K. 486, is a comic Singspiel written by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart on a German booklet of Gottlieb Stephanie.
Mozart wrote the opera for an organized musical competition on February 7th 1786 by the emperor Joseph II with the palate of Schönbrunn to Vienna. The idea was to oppose a German singspiel to an Italian opera. Italian work was the Opera buffa PRIMA the musica, poi the word ( Initially music and then the words ), of Antonio Salieri.
One can note the common features of the Ouverture and that of the opera the nozze di Figaro , which was written at the same time and was created later the same year.
There are only four numbers in the partition and the musical parts (approximately 30 minutes, including the opening) are surrounded by many spoken dialogs. In the current productions, the text is often entirely rewritten.
