Democratic party of Albania

The Democratic party of Albania (in Albanian, Partia Demokratike E Shqipërisë, PDSH) is a Political party Albanian of the preserving type. He is observant member of the European Popular party.

Since 1991, its chief is Sali Berisha which was the first elected president of Albania of 1992 to 1997.

He belongs to the opposition since 1997 and obtained 36,8% of the voices in 2001, with 46 deputies out of 140 (and 35 out of 155 in 1997). He gains the elections of July 2005, but must await the result of the last bys-election of August 21st to form a government.
