Day domino

The Domino Day is an annual event gathering of the scenes of fall of domino S. These dominos of colors form various frescos and it is each time a question of beating the world records of fallen from dominos. It is held with Leeuwarden with the Netherlands. It has been retransmis with the Télévision Dutch since 1986 and on certain TV European for a few years.

The assemblies are carried out by a hundred voluntary young people between 18 and 35 years throughout one 2 to 3 months.

Domino Day 2005

The Domino Day 2005 took place on November 18th. 4.321.000 dominos were installed on the topic of the Theater of the eternal stories. 4.002.136 dominos will manage to be reversed, new world records. To note that during the preparations a Moineau managed to enter the studio and caused the fall of 23.000 dominos before being cut down. This incident because a great controversy, several associations inquired to determine which responsible for had died for this bird. The person who cut down the bird received threats and a radio Dutchwoman offered 5.000 euro to whoever would manage to sabotage the plate before November 18th by causing the fall of at least a million dominos. These threats led the organizers to set up drastic security measures for the access and the control of the place of the plates. Even the presenters of television had to show white leg.

Domino Day 2006

The Domino Day 2006 took place on November 17th. 85 million people attended the event. After the preparation of the fall, new world records were established: 4.079.381 of dominos fell. 9 countries took part in the event.

Builders challenge

The Builers challenge are challenges carried out by two people and the purpose of who are to fill a hole in a course falling. 3 Challenges were made in 2006: the gramophone (a person is lengthened on the stem and must fill the holes in a disc in dominos, while its partner direct the stem), the recorder of cassette (a person poses the dominos, the other advances them while turning the recorder) and the Cd reader (two people pose dominos on Cd turning).
