David Robertson (naturalist)

David Robertson is a British Naturaliste , born in 1806 with Glasgow and died in 1896.
At the 8 years age, he works as shepherd in the Ayrshire but succeeds in obtaining a diploma of medicine. Being interested in the Natural history, he visits Millport regularly, Firth off Clyde and studies the flora and fauna there. In 1885, it utilikse an old floating laboratory, Ark (the arch), failed on the shore Port Loy, Cumbrae. He persuades of the personalities of Glasgow to finance a permanent marine research station. At the time of its death, at 90 years, the building of the current natural history museum was in the course of construction. The station opens one year later and counts a laboratory, a natural history museum and a public aquarium.
With George Stewardson Brady (1832-1921) and Henry William Crosskey (1826-1893), it makes appear has Monograph off the Post-Tertiary Entomostraca off Scotland .
