Biography

Born the May 4th 1944 with Amsterdam, it has two brothers Marteen and Lucas and a Elsbeth sister. His/her father was English professor, his mother ballet dancer. He usually speaks 5 languages.

At 14 years, he learns how to play of the Guitare. He was very influenced musicalement by the Everly Brothers; he did not have an idol but liked to listen to Gene Pitney and Roy Orbison.

At 16 years, it becomes very mystical, requests much and even plans to make studies of Théologie. It launches out in studies of right, always for the same reason: to be that which one listens to.

Student, it reads inter alia On the road of Jack Kerouac, Romance revolutionist who incited the young people of the whole world to leave to learn the life on the roads and to communicate with the others.

Although studying in right, it chooses in 1965 not to engage vague “Provo” (Batavian equivalent of May 68). In 1971, it takes part in the musical comedy Godspell which will know one big hit until in 1974. It is there that it will become acquainted in particular with Daniel Auteuil which will become his/her best friend.

In the Years 1980, one sees it less, mainly because of the advent of the free radios which is unaware of it. It is the beginning of the “crossing of a very pretty desert” like it says it itself. It is thus mainly thanks to the scene and with its reserve of tubes that Dave will continue its career.

In 1993, left a new album then in 1994, it makes its return, started by the success of its compilation left in 1994 (more than 200.000 sales). It will be able to thus record a new new album entitled Toujours same blue ; the individual extract of this album enables him to join again with the hit-parades. As of this time, it does not make any more any secrecy on its Homosexualité.

Following a request of the editions Slats, it leaves an autobiography entitled On the side at home followed by a traditional album Dave , realization of one of its old dreams: to record some of the broad topics of the classical music.

In 2003, it leaves a book It should be said in passing… my years spangles (editions the Pre one with the Clerks), the life of a high-speed motorboat of varieties in the Années 1970. In 2006, it leaves, under the name of Dave Levenbach , a new album: All the pleasure was for me .
