Darshaan
Darshaan (1981-2001) was a racehorse English Pur-sang born in England, by Shirley Heights and Delsy , by Abdos .
Pure livestock product Aga Khan, which had integrated a few years before manpower of the breeding Boussac and Dupre, Darshaan grants the Critérium de Saint-Cloud (then classified Groupe 2) to 2 years. The following year, it gains the prices Greffulhe and Hocquart, in prelude to its victory in a Prix of the Jockey-Club which was going to prove to be an exceptional vintage. Indeed, Darshaan preceded there Sadler' S Wells and Rainbow Quest, forming with them a trio of futures large standards. However, it could not confirm its perfect first part of season: it completely failed in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes, then was classified third of the Prix Niel but did not take share with the Prix of the Triumphal arch, and it any more is not revived.
Darshaan is one of the most influential reproducers in Europe since the Nineties. One owes him in particular the ace Dalakhani, his best produced, but also 10 other prizes winner of group 1, among which Kotashaan (Breeders' Cup Turf), Mark off Esteem , (2000 Guineas, Queen Elizabeth II Stakes), or Hellenic (Yorkshire Oaks).
He also affirmed himself like very a good father of mothers, appearing in the pedigree of horses such as Sendawar , High Chapparal , Marienbard , Islington or Alexander Goldrun .
Before its death, in May 2001, its price of projection reached 75.000 Irish Livres. It was Chief candidate of the fathers of mothers in England and Ireland in 2002 and Chief candidate of the standards in France in 2003.
Origins
Darshaan is a son of the large standard Shirley Heights (Derby, Irish Derby). His/her mother, Delsy , were placed of group and made wonder with the stud farm, by giving good the Dalara (by Doyoun , Prix of Royallieu), and Darara (by Top City, Prix Vermilion).
