Dante
DANTE is a non-profit organization whose mission is to define, build and manage networks of research and education on behalf of the Domestic networks for Research and Education ( National Research and Education Networks ) in Europe. Founded in 1993 in Cambridge, in the United Kingdom, DANTE an important role in the success of the installation of networks of paneuropéens exchange played for research and education. DANTE currently builds GÉANT2, which aims at improving the GIANT current network , and will thus continue to provide the infrastructure of transfer of information essential with the success of many European research projects.
DANTE takes part in many world initiatives aiming at inter-connecting countries resulting from several continents between them and with GÉANT2. DANTE currently manages projects concerning the areas the Mediterranean, Latin America and the Asia-Pacific within the framework of projects EUMEDCONNECT, ALICE and TEIN2.
