Mbuta Daniel Kanza was the first Congolese burgomaster of the town of Kinshasa in Democratic republic of Congo, and previously Vice-Président of the Alliance of Bakongo (ABAKO). His/her son, Thomas Kanza, was the first graduate Congolese academic in Belgium, and member of the Gouvernement Lumumba. His/her daughter, Sophie Lihau-Kanza, was the first graduate Congolese academic of the Université of Geneva in Suisse.
