DaN Osman
daN Osman (February 11th 1963 - November 23rd 1998) is climbing known for its practice of extreme sport as the Escalade in solo (it made 8b at sight and knew almost all the ways of Yosemites) or the freefall, like for its lifestyle enough Bohemia: he lived in a house fixed on a tree.
He is deceased on November 23rd, 1998 following an accident in freefall in the national park of Yosemite, whereas he tested cords for his sponsor. Whereas it jumped of a height of 1100 feet, that is to say 330 meters, its cord broke (one still does not know the precise cause of it, if not that the cord was not new) and it then fell 45 meters lower. The most widespread version of the cause of its death is the following one: apparently, it jumped on cords attached the ones to the others but this hank had remained some time outside and had been exposed to the rain. DaN had decided to make a last jump before leaving the site but, under the force of the impact, a node of one of the last cords released. Fall on the ground… It leaves a girl, Emma.
