World heritage

Several sites and constructions are indexed with the " Inheritance mondial" of UNESCO
  • " Traditional buildings ashanti " located at the North-East of Kamoussi. These thatch and ground, wood houses are among the last vestiges of the apogee of the culture ashanti at the 18th century. These constructions are put today in danger by the climate and the sun.
  • " Forts and castles of Volta, Accra and its surroundings and the central areas and ouest" located on the Ghanaian dimension, between Keta and Beyin. They are the vestiges of the strengthened counters built by the colonists portuguais between 1482 and 1786, on the sea routes of the commercial routes.
