Literature

The Cameronian literature is for the greatest part a French-speaking literature marked by personalities which had also political responsibilities. In the names testify to Jacques Bonjawo, Gaston Kelman and Ebénézer Njoh-Mouellé. The living conditions of the Cameronians, the History and the destiny of Africa, are major topics their works like those of the two Cameronian authors most important: Mongo Beti and Ferdinand Oyono.

Mongo Beti

Alexandre Biyidi Awala, Mongo Beti is a free-Cameronian writer. Famous novelist, engaged essay writer, teacher, bookseller and editor, it belongs to African great writers the. (June 30th, 1932 - October 7th, 2001)

Cultural events

  • the 1st biennial one of the Photography and Visual Arts, was held from January 14th to 23rd 2005 with Douala with the Cameroun. On the topic “ Traces and Mémoire ”, fourteen photographers and seventeen painters African, afro caribéens and Europeans expose their works.
