Cubase
Cubase designates a family of musical sequencers produced by the German company Steinberg Media Technologies.
The first versions appeared on Commodore 64, then with Atari and its Pro24 to leave the place with Cubase for Atari, Mac and PC.
Today the range (exclusively Mac/PC) is declined in SE/SL/SX for the informed versions expert amateur//with Nuendo for the great musical production.
At the present time, SX/SL makes place with Cubase 4 and Cubase Studio 4.
Chronology of the principal versions
Cubase 1.0 Atari
April 1989 -- Initially called “Cubit”, the name was finally Cubase for reasons of copyright, it was the successor of the Pro-24. Cubase for Atari managed only the MIDDAY, and turned on Atari 520ST and Atari 1040ST which had the advantage of having catches midday of origin.
Audio Cubase
1991 - On Macintosh, first version allowing the edition of sounds and more only of the format midday.
Cubase for Windows
1992 - First version of the sequencer on Windows 3.1
Cubase Score for Windows
1993 - Cubase Score allows 5 modes of edition: Key, List, Logic, Drum, and of course, a partition mode. An editor GM/GS is included (general format Midi).
Audio Cubase XT 3.0
1996
Cubase VST3.0 Macintosh
1996 - To 32 tracks digital audios, 128 simultaneous numerical effects. Interface Plug-in allowing the integration of external modules. Edition of partition up to 60 ranges by pages, 8 votes of polyphony.
Cubase VST24 4.1 Macintosh
1999 Version Macintosh only.
Cubase SX1.0/Cubase SL1.0
2002 - Cubase SX1.0 is the new generation after Cubase VST. It is a complete rewriting of the code of Cubase being pressed on the engine of generation of Nuendo sounds.
Cubase SX2.0/Cubase SL2.0
2003 -
Cubase SX3.0
2004 One of the major changes of Cubase SX3.0 is Audiowarp which makes it possible to preserve audio synchronization even in the event of modification of the tempo.
Cubase 4.0
2006 - Cubase 4.0 marks the end of the initials SX and the end of the support of the plugin DirectX. It is a major change of the user interface.
Cubase 4.1
2007 - Cubase 4.1 left on October 23rd, 2007 with new functionalities like the Sidechaining , the Free Group Routing , the Project Logical Editor . The existing functionalities as Audiowarp were improved.
